Game Notes Little Rock | Tennessee Tech | OVC
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Little Rock Women's Basketball is set for a Saturday showdown in Ohio Valley Conference play Saturday afternoon when the Trojans make their first-ever trip to Tennessee Tech.

Sitting at 8-1 in the OVC standings and a game ahead of host Tennessee Tech, Little Rock can effectively move two games in front of the Golden Eagles (13-6, 7-2 OVC) with a win having already beaten TTU earlier this season, a 61-45 dispatching in Little Rock on Jan. 19. The Trojans (11-9, 8-1) enter the contest just a single game back of league-leading Eastern Illinois (17-3, 9-0).

Series History
  • Saturday's contest marks just the second meeting between Little Rock and Tennessee Tech.
  • Little Rock is making its first-ever trip to Cookeville, Tennessee.
  • The Trojans have won eight straight games over teams from the Volunteer State.

Five Things to Know
  1. Will the Streak End Saturday? Hopefully NEIN!
Entering Saturday's contest in Cookeville, Little Rock has compiled eight consecutive wins against teams from the Volunteer State in a streak that dates back to 2019. A win over the Golden Eagles would stretch that mark to nine consecutive wins. The current streak includes a 61-45 win over Tennessee Tech on Jan. 19 in Little Rock.
  2. Separation Saturday
Little Rock's game at Tennessee Tech on Saturday is a key matchup in the OVC standings as we enter the second half of the season. The Trojans, just a single game behind league-leading Eastern Illinois in the OVC tables, are also just a single game ahead of the Golden Eagles. A win Saturday would create a little separation between Little Rock's Team and Tennessee Tech and would solidify the Trojans' advantage over TTU in any tie-breaking scenario.
  3. Rage Against the Machine
If Little Rock going on a run just drives you crazy such that you lose your cool, you probably aren't alone. The Trojans have compiled 11 runs this season of eight or more consecutive points including a 15-point run on Jan. 19 against Tennessee Tech when Kim Rosamond was less than pleased to watch Little Rock go from a slim three-point margin to a wide 18-point gap. That marks the longest run of the season, closely followed by a 13-0 run against Arkansas State at home on Dec. 18.
  4. A Benjamin? Teams Are Just Hoping for Half!
Ohio Valley Conference teams are getting a rude awakening to just how suffocating Joe Foley's defense is, and the numbers speak for themselves. Entering this game, OVC teams are barely managing 44.22 points per game and only one OVC team has managed to score more than 50 points on the Trojans when Tennessee State lost to Little Rock's Team, 64-57, on Dec. 31 in Nashville. Not a single OVC team has reached the 60-point mark against the Trojans this season. See Page 4 for more on this historic defense.
  5. One is the Loneliest Number
Little Rock became just the 10th team in the country this season to limit an opponent to one or fewer assists in a game on Jan. 21 when the Trojans held Tennessee State to a single assist. That ranks tied for fifth for the lowest number of assists allowed as four teams - Auburn, Washington, LSU and Green Bay - did not allow an assist in a game this season.
