Thanks to last weekend's series sweep of Tennessee State, things have suddenly gotten a bit more interesting in the race for the next month's Ohio Valley Conference postseason tournament.
With just nine matches to go before the top eight teams in the OVC meet in Evansville, Ind., Little Rock (6-14, overall, 3-6 OVC) is just a half-game out of the eighth spot as the Trojans head to St. Charles, Mo. this weekend for a two-game series with Lindenwood (10-11, 6-4). Both matches can be seen on ESPN+.
MATCH NOTES
SERIES HISTORY – Lindenwood leads the overall series, 2-0, after sweeping last season's conference series at the Jack Stephens Center. Little Rock lost the first match 3-1, then dropped the second, 3-2. This is the first time the teams will meet in St. Charles.
SCOUTING THE LIONS — Lindenwood is 6-3 at home this season but lost their last match at Hyland Arena, a 3-1 decision against Morehead State … Lindenwood is fourth in the OVC in hitting percentage, kills and assists, but the Lions surrender the second-highest opponents hitting percentage in the conference … Jessie Seidel ranks fifth individually in digs per set (4.67) … Allie Otten is eighth in assists (6.7) and Rebecca Janke is eighth in kills per set (.295)
