ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Little Rock's road struggles continued Friday in a 3-0 conference loss at Lindenwood's Hyland Arena. The Trojans (6-15 overall, 3-7 OVC) fell to 1-8 away from home but more importantly, the loss put them 1.5 games back of eighth place SIUE in the race for the conference tournament. Little Rock slipped from ninth to 10
th and trails Tennessee Tech by a half game.
Lindenwood (11-11, 7-4) had no trouble with the visitors, cruising to scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-20 while hitting .215 for the match. Little Rock managed just .091 hitting and committed 10 service errors and eight receiving errors. The Trojans led just once in each of the first two sets and traded the lead six times in the third before bowing out in straight sets.
Bella Cherry led the Trojans with eight kills,
Daedrianna Cail had five, and both
Jeila Fullerton and
Sophia Garrido had four.
Dariana Valencia paced the team with 14 assists and
Kaylee Smith added nine to go with a pair of service aces.
Jaycee Kennedy had a team-high three blocks and
Andrea Roman led the group with 12 digs. Valencia, Smith, and
Rylee McClintock each had six digs.
The two teams will take the floor again Saturday at 2 pm. The match can be seen on ESPN+.
