A pair of 20-win teams from a season ago will clash Monday when the Little Rock Women's basketball season begins Monday at the Jack Stephens Center against Missouri State. Opening tip against the Lady Bears is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
The game with be aired on ESPN+ with Dorian Craft and Patrick Newton on the call. Radio coverage will air around 4:45 p.m. with Trey Schaap returning for another season, airing live on 920 AM The Sports Animal.
The Trojans enter the season picked to finish second in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll. A pair of Trojans were selected for the Preseason All-OVC Women's Basketball Team as senior guard
Tia Harvey and sophomore forward
Faith Lee made the list. Harvey was 2
nd Team All-OVC in 2022-23 after averaging 10 points, 3.1 rebounds and two assists per game and Lee posted 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.1 assist per game last season. The team returns seven members of last year's team and welcomes eight newcomers.
This will be the the 19th meeting between the two teams with Missouri State leading the all-time series 14-4. The Lady Bears have won the past three meetings including the last on December 21, 2022 with a final score of 55-48 in Springfield, Mo. The last victory for the Trojans over Missouri State was on December 4, 2017 in Little Rock with a 63-51 final.
