Little Rock heads to Murray State for matchup with nation's highest-scoring offense

Notes Little Rock 
The Little Rock women's basketball team will be in Kentucky on Thursday evening as they attempt to keep pace with the nation's highest scoring team. The Trojans face Murray State in a non-conference game at 6 pm from the CFSB Center, with live streaming available on ESPN+ and the local radio call on Sports Animal 920 AM.

Little Rock (0-7) plays the first of six consecutive road games against the Racers (5-2), who enter the contest scoring an NCAA-best 94.4 points per game. Murray State has scored more than 100 points in three games and at least 90 in five of their seven games. The Racers posted a season-high 121 points against Cumberland (Tenn.) and has scored at least 79 points in every outing.

Murray State is getting off 72 shot attempts per contest and shooting 45.9 percent from the floor this season. The Racers have also connected on 74 three-point shots (10.6 per game). Four players average double figures in scoring, led by Katelyn Young at 17.3 points per game. Young also leads the team with eight rebounds per outing. Ava Learn (13.3), Zoe Stewart (10.9) and Hannah McKay (10.0) round out the group.

Little Rock (44.1 ppg) is putting up 50 points fewer per game and averaging 22 fewer field goal attempts per outing. The Trojans enter the game shooting 33.4 percent from the floor with just 14 made three-point shots. Faith Lee (11.9 ppg) leads the team in scoring, with Jaiyah Harris-Smith (8.2) next and Jayla Brooks (6.6) rounding out the top three. Harris-Smith has set career-best marks in scoring in each of the past two games.

Murray State leads the all-time series with Little Rock, 5-2, and took the most recent meeting back in 2009 – a 67-65 win in Little Rock in the opening round of the Women's NIT. The Trojans won the most recent meeting in Murray, a 60-56 victory on Dec. 17, 2004. The first meeting between the two programs dates back to Dec. 15, 1979.
