Game Notes Little Rock | UT Martin | OVC
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After back-to-back games of hot and cold halves, Little Rock will look for a consistent 40 minutes as the Trojans briefly step away from the Capital City for a Saturday contest at UT Martin.

Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. with the game airing live on ESPN+ as Chris Brinkley and Eddie Suiter have the call. Trey Schaap will broadcast the action on the Little Rock Sports Network (920 AM The Sports Animal).

Opening Tip
  • Little Rock looks to stay hot on EIU's heels as the Trojans visit UT Martin for the first time since 2003.
  • The Trojans are holding opponents to just 52.6 ppg (and 46.5 ppg in OVC play). Both marks are the lowest of any OVC team in league history.
  • Only three players to face the Trojans this season have recorded five or more assists in a game against Little Rock.
  • Little Rock has only allowed more than 60 points once in OVC play this year.
  • LR is averaging 1.54 charges drawn per game. Angelique Francis leads the way with 12 drawn charges while Jayla Brooks has nine.
  • The Trojans rank 4th nationally in opposing team assists per game (8.3) and 11th in the country in opposing team steals per game (5.5).

Series History
  • This will be just the sixth meeting between the Trojans and the Skyhawks in a series that dates back to the 1978-79 season.
  • The last time these two teams played, Little Rock was forced to move the game to Simmons Bank Arena due to a water coil burst flooding the Jack Stephens Center.
  • This marks the fourth trip to Martin overall for Little Rock's Team but the first since 2003.
  • UT Martin has never played a game at the Jack Stephens Center.
  • Little Rock is 26-30 all-time against opponents from the state of Tennessee.

Five Things to Know
  1. Can the Trojans Make It a Handful?
As Little Rock heads into this game, the Trojans have thus far recorded season sweeps over four OVC opponents ... and counting. Little Rock now heads to Martin, Tennessee with a challenging task ahead of them - facing a team it hasn't seen in over seven weeks and one they barely beat, thanks to a Hail Mary half-court shot by Tia Harvey as time expired. Now there is more than just winning a game on the line. Little Rock is looking for a sweep over its fifth OVC opponent of the year and to stay in contention for a possible OVC regular season championship as LR enters the contest just one game back of league leader Eastern Illinois.
  2. New Conference Opponent? Or Super-Secret Rival?
According to the record books and on the face of things, Saturday contest against Little Rock and UT Martin is just the second real meeting since the 2003-04 season, when Joe Foley was in his first year guiding the Trojans. But in a super-secret hush-hush turn of events, this is approximately the 12th consecutive season the two programs will face each other on the hardwood. The Trojans and the Skyhawks have been each other's super-secret scrimmage partners in each of the past seven seasons, but don't tell the NCAA that because the games never existed. Because they didn't. Or did they? We'll never tell.
  3. Looking for TENnessee
As Little Rock heads to Martin, Tennessee for the first (official) time since 2003, the Trojans are looking to extend a notable streak against the Volunteer State. Little Rock enters Saturday's game having won nine consecutive games against teams from the state of Tennessee, including five this season alone.  The last time Little Rock dropped a game to a team from Tennessee was back in 2019. Since then, Tennessee teams have volunteered to be outscored 532-461 by the Trojans, resulting in nine straight Little Rock wins.
  4. Looking for Our Better Half
And it certainly came in the second half on Thursday, Feb. 9 against Morehead State. Little Rock recorded its first win this season when entering halftime with a deficit. Trailing 31-30 at half, the Trojans held Morehead State to 15 second-half points, scored 20 points off turnovers in the second half and outscored the Eagles by 16 over the final 20 minutes for the win.
  5. All The Single Ladies
But perhaps that previous note isn't surprising. After all, Little Rock's defense has kept Trojan opponent scoring in the single digits in a quarter on 28 separate occasions this season with Texas A&M (Dec. 6), Tennessee State (Jan. 21) and Morehead State (Feb. 9) not able to reach double digits in three of the four quarters against Little Rock.

A Little Rock Win Would...
  • Keep Little Rock within a single game of the top of the OVC.
  • Give the Trojans 10th consecutive win over a team from Tennessee.
  • Bring the Trojans to .500 (6-6) in road games this season.
  • Secure an eighth-straight win, the program's longest winning streak since the 2018-19 season.
  • Record the fifth season sweep of an OVC opponent this year.
  • Register Joe Foley's 849th win as a head coach (but who's counting?).
  • Give Joe Foley his 393rd win as head coach of the Trojans.
  • Be better than a loss.
