Game Notes Little Rock | Lindenwood | OVC
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Little Rock may have wrapped up the outright Ohio Valley Conference title on Thursday but don't expect any kind of let up Saturday. This team, winners of 17 of their past 19 games, can secure their 20th win of the season in the regular season finale at Lindenwood.

Tip-off against the Lions is set for 1 p.m. at Hyland Arena in St. Charles as Lindenwood, already eliminated from the OVC Tournament, will conclude their first year as members of Division I and the Ohio Valley Conference.

Fans can watch the Trojans on ESPN+ or listen to the action on the Little Rock Sports Network (920 AM The Sports Animal) back in the Capital City.

Series History
  • This will be just the second meeting between Little Rock and Lindenwood with the Trojans taking the first contest in Little Rockat the beginning of February.
  • In their previous meeting, Little Rock held Lindenwood to just 12 points in the first half, while the Trojans scored 12 points in the second quarter alone. LR took a 29-12 lead into halftime.
  • This marks Little Rock's first-ever trip to St. Charles.
  • That dominant win came while allowing 16 points in the fourth quarter against the Lions.
 Opening Tip
  • Little Rock looks to clinch a 20-win season for the 13th time overall and first since 2018-19.
  • A win would mark the 12th consecutive win for Little Rock and the 18th win in the past 20 games.
  • The Trojans are holding opponents to just 51.5 ppg (and 46.1 ppg in OVC play). Both marks are the lowest of any OVC team in league history.
  • Only three players to face the Trojans this season have recorded five or more assists in a game against Little Rock.
  • Little Rock has only allowed more than 60 points once in OVC play this year.
  • LR is averaging 1.36 charges drawn per game. Angelique Francis leads the way with 12 drawn charges while Jayla Brooks has 11.
  • The Trojans rank 6th nationally in opposing team assists per game (8.4) and 13th in the country in opposing team steals per game (5.6).
  • Including this season, Little Rock has reached its conference tournament semifinal round in 15 of the past 16 years.
 Five Things to Know
  1. Going for 20
The outright championship is secured and the No. 1 seed is set. Lindenwood has been eliminated from the conference tournament. So there's nothing to play for Saturday, right? Not so fast. A win by Little Rock at Lindenwood on Saturday would mark the Trojans' 20th win of the season. That would make the 13th time in Joe Foley's 20 years at Little Rock that his squad has tallied 20 or more wins in a season.
  2. Secure the Bag
More than just a 20th win, a victory on Saturday at Little Rock would move the Trojans to 8-6 in true road games this season and secure a winning record on the road this season.
  3. Bracketology - It's Definitely Not Science
In the Feb. 24 edition of Bracketology by ESPN, Charlie Creme pegged the Trojans as a No. 16 seed getting sent to a First Four play-in game against Norfolk State with the winner facing Indiana. Respectfully sir, Norfolkin' way.
  4. Are We The Rodney Dangerfield of College Basketball?
Four wins over SEC programs in three years (against three different teams). The nation's fourth-best defense. Absolutely shattering OVC records. Wins in 17 of the past 19 games. And yet, Little Rock hasn't been ranked in the Mid-Major poll this year. Little Rock is projected by to be in a First Four play-in game by ESPN's Charlie Creme. It sure feels like we're the Rodney Dangerfield of college basketball right now...
  5. SaLeads the Nation
Sure, Sali Kourouma's ability to score is incredibly impressive - 16.6 ppg ranks third in the OVC overall (without minimums) and ranks 98th nationally - but have you considered her skills on the defensive side of the ball? Kourouma's Player Defensive Rating of 61.0 - a number that calculates the number of points allowed by a player per 100 possessions faced - ranks her first in the nation just ahead of Norfolk State's Camille Downs (61.1). If you know anything about Little Rock's defense, then you should know that number easily leads the OVC while the Trojans have the top six and eight of the top 10 Player Defensive Ratings in the OVC (minimum 15 games played).
A Win Would…
  • Secure the 13th season of 20+ wins for the Trojans under Joe Foley.
  • Clinch a winning record on the road for the Trojans this season.
  • Secure a 12th-straight win, the program's longest winning streak since the 2018-19 season.
  • Mark the 18th win in the past 20 tries for Little Rock's Team.
  • Secure a season sweep over the Lions, the eighth sweep of the year for Little Rock.
  • Register Joe Foley's 853rd win as a head coach (but who's counting?).
  • Give Joe Foley his 397th win as head coach of the Trojans.
  • Be better than a loss.
