EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Little Rock looks to win its sixth conference tournament championship in the past 12 years Saturday as the top-seeded Trojans will face No. 3 seed Tennessee Tech at 2 p.m. for the chance to go to the Big Dance.
Â
It marks the first tournament championship game appearance for Little Rock since 2019 and the Trojans, winners of 13 straight, reach the tournament final in their first season as members of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Â
No team, until Little Rock that is, has won the OVC regular season in their first year in the league. No team has won the conference tournament in their inaugural season either. The Trojans will look to continue to rewrite history Saturday.
Â
The game will air live on ESPN+ with Connor Onion (play-by-play) and Teresa Phillips calling the action while Trey Schaap will be over the air waves in the Capital City on the Little Rock Sports Network (920 AM The Sports Animal).

Opening Tip
- Little Rock looks to claim its sixth conference tournament title in the past 12 years.
- A win would mark the 14th consecutive win for Little Rock and the 20th win in the past 22 games.
- The Trojans are holding opponents to just 50.9 ppg (and 46.3 ppg in OVC play). Both marks are the lowest of any OVC team in league history.
- Only three players to face the Trojans this season have recorded five or more assists in a game against Little Rock.
- Little Rock has only allowed more than 60 points once in OVC play this year.
- LR is averaging 1.3 charges drawn per game. Angelique Francis leads the way with 12 drawn charges while Jayla Brooks has 11.
- The Trojans rank 6th nationally in opposing team assists per game (8.4) and 14th in the country in opposing team steals per game (5.8).
- Including this season, Little Rock has reached its conference tournament semifinal round in 15 of the past 16 years.
Â
Series History vs. Tennessee Tech
Little Rock and Tennessee Tech have a long and storied series history between the two programs that goes all the way back to ... January, when they first played. Saturday's contest marks just the third meeting between Little Rock and Tennessee Tech.
It is the first meeting between the two programs in the OVC Tournament.
The Trojans have won 10 straight games over teams from the Volunteer State.
Â
Five Things to Know
- Conference Tournament History
Little Rock is making its 22nd conference tournament appearance in school history with the previous 21 taking place in the Sun Belt Conference. And while the OVC is new, this is still the same ol' Little Rock. The Trojans are 30-17 (.638) all-time in conference tournament games.
- Board the 'Ship
The Trojans have now reached their conference tournament game in eight of the past 14 years. When playing in the 'Ship, the Trojans know how to celebrate. A win by Little Rock's Team on Saturday would mark the sixth conference tournament championship won in the past 12 years.
- Look to Extend the Streak
A win by the Trojans on Saturday would mark the team's 14th straight victory. That would make this the longest winning streak for the program since the 2015-16 season when Little Rock won 15 consecutive games. We hope there's a better long-term outcome as the Trojans fell in the Sun Belt title game that season before dropping a one-point, 70-69 decision at Saint Louis in the first round of the WNIT.
- Winning Over TENnessee
Little Rock enters Saturday's championship game looking to extend another streak - voluntarily. The Trojans have won 10 consecutive games against teams from the State of Tennessee entering this title contest.
- Setting Records
As the Trojans held Southeast Missouri to just 35 points in the semifinal win on Friday, that marked SEMO's lowest scoring output since a 74-32 loss at Missouri on Dec. 2, 2015 and the fewest number of points SEMO has ever scored in an OVC Tournament game.
Â
A Win Would…
- Secure the 19th championship overall and sixth tournament title for the Trojans under Joe Foley.
- Mark a win in Little Rock's first OVC Championship Game.
- Send Little Rock to its seventh NCAA Tournament.
- Secure a 14th-straight win, the program's longest winning streak since the 2015-16 season.
- Mark the 20th win in the past 22 tries for Little Rock's Team.
- Move the Trojans 2-0 all-time in OVC Tournament games.
- Register Joe Foley's 855th win as a head coach (but who's counting?).
- Give Joe Foley his 399th win as head coach of the Trojans.
- Be better than a loss.
