LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After a 10 day road trip that saw the Trojans travel to Fayetteville and Charleston, Illinois to face off against Arkansas and Eastern Illinois, Little Rock will finally return to the Capital City for a midweek game against ULM. The contest will take place on Wednesday with first pitch slated for 6 p.m. at Gary Hogan Field.
Â
Last Time Out
The Trojans are coming off of a series in which they dropped two out of three in an Ohio Valley Conference series at Eastern Illinois. Little Rock won the Friday matchup as starter
Jackson Wells pitched a season high eight innings and did not allow an earned run, only giving up five hits in the process. Freshman
Trey Hill hit his first collegiate homerun in the top of the eighth inning which would eventually prove to be the game winning run as the Panthers attempted a comeback, scoring two in the ninth, but the Trojans came away with the 4-3 victory. Sunday's matchup was moved to a doubleheader on Saturday to avoid bad weather in the Charleston area and the Trojans found themselves on the wrong end of two close decisions. The first game was another low scoring affair that EIU won 5-3, game two had a bit more offense and the Panthers had to walk-off the Trojans in the bottom of the ninth to win 7-6. Little Rock was able to get the go ahead run to the plate in each of the two doubleheader games but were unable to capitalize in game one.
Graydon Martin came in off the bench in game three and delivered a game tying, two RBI single with two outs in the ninth of game two and would score the go ahead run later in the inning. Unfortunately, Little Rock was unable to hold on to the lead as a fielder's choice scored the game winning run for EIU in the bottom of the ninth.

Scouting the Warhawks
ULM enters Wednesday's game with an overall record of 14-22 to go along with a conference record of 4-10 in the Sun Belt. The Warhawks are coming off of a weekend that saw them drop two of three games to a visiting South Alabama squad, winning on Friday before losing the following two games. Since the last time these two teams met on April 4, ULM has played six games, going 4-2 over that span with wins over App State as well as Louisiana Tech to go along with the one win over the Jaguars of South Alabama. As a team, the Warhawks are hitting .247 which is the worst in the Sun Belt and have hit just 25 homeruns in 35 games this season compared to Little Rock's 38 in 33 games. Junior catcher Riley Davis has been the offensive leader for the Warhawks, hitting a team best .285 with five homeruns and 11 doubles, both the highest marks on the team. On the bump, ULM has a team ERA of 5.47 and opponents are batting .263 against the Warhawks pitching staff. Nicholas Judice leads the Warhawks out of the bullpen with a 3.13 ERA in 31.2 innings pitched. Opponents are batting just .207 off the right-hander and he has stuck out 41 to just nine walks.

Series History
Earlier this season the Trojans slugged their way past the Warhawks in a 12-7 win in Monroe.
Hoss Brewer was the pitcher of record, getting the win as he pitched the final five innings out the bullpen without allowing a run.
Tyler Williams hit two homeruns in a 4-for-5 performance while also collecting five RBI. Little Rock and ULM have quite the series history having played as conference opponents for many years. Last season the Trojans took all three games from the Warhawks in a series played at Gary Hogan Field with
Noah Dickerson ending the series by hitting a walk-off double for a 7-6 Little Rock win. Though ULM holds the all-time series with 49 wins to 40 losses, Little Rock has come out victorious in 10 of the previous 13 matchups dating back to 2018. The home team has typically been very successful in the history between these two programs, the Trojans are 27-11 when playing at Gary Hogan Field versus 13-38 in games played in Monroe.

Three Things to Know
Â
- Despite dropping two of three games last weekend, Little Rock still finds itself in third place in the OVC with a record of 7-5. The Trojans are undefeated in conference at home so far this season with a big series against SIUE on deck for this Friday-Sunday.
- With his prior start of eight innings and no earned runs, sophomore Jackson Wells dropped his season ERA to a miniscule 1.27. This mark leads the OVC and is second in the nation as he has allowed just seven earned runs in 49.2 innings pitched.
- Sophomore Graydon Martin came up big in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against Eastern Illinois. Down to their last out, the Trojans were able to get two baserunners in scoring position when Martin sent a single through the left side to tie things up, scoring the go ahead run two batters later. Unfortunately, Little Rock was unable to hold on in the bottom of the ninth, but Martin's efforts earned him Little Rock Baseball Hitter of the Week.
