Nine Trojan Wrestlers Named to Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll

Little Rock turns in second-most wrestlers on the list in the conference

SAN FRANCISCO – Nine Little Rock wrestlers made the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll this year, as announced by the league office. Out of the six wrestling schools that compete in the conference, the Trojans boasted the second-highest number of student-athletes that appeared on the list.

"I'm very proud of these nine student-athletes," said head coach Neil Erisman. "Here at Little Rock, we stress excellence in every aspect of our life. We know that we're students first and foremost, and our team has exemplified this."

As the Trojans continue to make strides on the mat, they also continue to be consistent in the classroom. Little Rock's nine wrestlers were only topped by Stanford's 10 on the list. The Trojans outperformed Arizona State's eight, eight from Oregon State, CSU-Bakersfield's four, and four from Cal Poly.

Four of the nine Little Rock wrestlers are now three-time honorees. The group is led by Aidan Campbell, who finished his career as a Trojan with a 4.0 in management. Tyler Brennan and twins Jayden Carson and Jaylen Carson continue their streak, with grade-point-averages of 3.31 in management, 3.40 in finance, and 3.46 in marketing, respectively.

Austin Keal makes the list for the second time, turning in a 3.63 grade-point-average in finance.

Finally, handful of second-year student-athletes claimed their first appearance on the Honor Roll: Jake Adams, Matty Bianchi, Warren Hoyt, and Chase Tebbets.

It is the second academic achievement for Bianchi this year after receiving Academic All-American honors from the NWCA this season. Tebbets is also a familiar face for the Trojans in terms of performance in the classroom, having earning Academic All-American honors last year. Bianchi posted a 3.82 in mass communications while Tebbets holds a 3.84 in applied communications.

Meanwhile, Jake Adams turned in a grade-point-average of 3.48 in management and Warren Hoyt put together a 3.84 in finance.

Any student-athlete on their respective team roster with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or above, and who has served at least one year in residence at the institution, is eligible for the distinction. View the entire Pac-12 release and the link to the full Honor Roll list here.
