Little Rock Announces Signing of Creed Williamson to National Letter of Intent

Son of 1994 national champion, NBA star stays home to join Little Rock’s Team

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Basketball Coach Darrell Walker announced the signing of Creed Williamson to a National Letter of Intent Thursday, keeping the Natural State product in the Capital City.

Williamson, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward, spent the past year at Link Year Prep following a standout high school career at Little Rock Christian Academy.

"Creed is a talented young freshman that has good size and a good body for his age," Walker said. "I am looking for a lot of good things out of him in the future. He grew up around the game his entire life and has seen the dedication that it takes to be successful."

Rated as the 139th nationally ranked recruit according to PrepHoops.com, Williamson averaged 10.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 assists at Link Year as the preparatory program faced a challenging national schedule. He shot 53% from the field with a 38% mark from 3-point range and posted a 76% clip from the charity stripe.

A Little Rock product and son of Corliss "Big Nasty" Williamson, the two-time All-American and NBA Draft lottery pick that spent 12 seasons in the NBA after winning the 1994 national championship with Arkansas, Creed Williamson played for his father at Little Rock Christian where he averaged 14 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game during his senior campaign.

That followed a junior season where he averaged 12.0 points and 7.4 rebounds while shooting 59% from the floor.

He also played for his father as a member of the Arkansas Hawks on the AAU/club level.

Williamson will join Little Rock's Team for this upcoming season as the Trojans prepare for their second year as members of the Ohio Valley Conference.
