The Little Rock volleyball team will head to Memphis for their final non-conference action of the season at the Beale Street Challenge on Friday and Saturday, where the opposition will be tougher than the Trojans have seen all year.
Little Rock (3-5) brings a three-match win streak into the weekend, where the Trojans will take on Southern Miss (10 am) and Arizona State (3 pm) on Friday, followed by a 2 pm match against host Memphis on Saturday. All three contests will be held at the Larry O. Finch Center on the Memphis University campus.

SERIES HISTORY
Â
- Southern Miss: USM leads the series, 4-2, and has won the last three dating back to 2003. The two teams last met in 2018, with Little Rock falling 3-2 in Oxford, Miss.
- Arizona State: This is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
- Memphis: Memphis leads the series, 12-8, and has won the last four meetings dating back to 2015. Memphis swept the Trojans last season in the most recent meeting.

THINGS TO KNOW

- UNBEATEN ASU — Arizona State enters the weekend a perfect 9-0, with six matches ending in straight sets. The Sun Devils have yet to go the full five sets this season. ASU is hitting an eye-opening .345 on the season, with 414 kills to just 88 errors. Marta Levinska (113 kills, .328) and Geli Cyr (112 kills, .337) are the team's top hitters.
- YOUTH MOVEMENT — The Trojans are getting huge contributions from freshmen in the early point of the season. Dariana Valencia has registered three double-doubles, the most recent including a career-best 31 assists. Bella Cherry has two double-doubles, the most recent including a career-high 21 kills. Kaylee Smith also has a pair of double-doubles, including a 21-assist performance against Lamar University.
- FINAL TUNEUP — The Trojans open their OVC schedule next weekend, with these matches in Memphis the final opportunity for coach Van Compton to tweak her lineup before beginning conference play. Next weekend, Little Rock travels to Southern Indiana for two matches before coming home to host Tennessee Tech on Sept. 29-30.
