Little Rock enters the final regular season series of the season tomorrow with a chance to grab a seed as high as #2 in next week's Ohio Valley Conference Championship, when the Trojans host Lindenwood for a high stakes pair of matches at the Jack Stephens Center. Both matches – tomorrow and Wednesday – will begin at 6 pm and can be seen live on ESPN+. Little Rock (16-13 overall, 11-5 OVC) is currently a game back of Lindenwood (18-10, 12-4) entering the last week before the conference tournament.
WHERE WILL THEY LAND?
With five teams in the conference separated by just two games, Little Rock could finish as high as second (with a sweep of Lindenwood) or as low as sixth in the OVC. The Trojans are out of the running for the regular season title, but most tiebreaker scenarios have Little Rock finishing 2-4. Obviously, Little Rock can control its own destiny by winning in its final two matches, but if they were to drop one or both matches against the visiting Lions, things will get VERY interesting.
MILESTONE WATCH
Jeila Fullerton eclipsed 800 career kills in the Trojans' most recent match, and is just 42.5 points shy of the 1,000-point mark for her career …
Jaycee Kennedy needs seven blocks to reach 100 for the season …
Andrea Roman has already set the school's single-season digs record (currently 565), and needs just 20 more to reach 900 for her career … The Trojans are less than 100 digs from setting a new team record for digs in a season.
SERIES HISTORY
Little Rock is 1-3 all-time against Lindenwood, with all four previous matches coming in the last two seasons since the Trojans joined the OVC. After Lindenwood swept the first pair in Little Rock back in 2022, the Trojans earned a split during last season's series and own a win in the most previous meeting.
LINDENWOOD – FIRST LOOK
The Lions have a lot to play for as well, with a chance to still grab the regular season OVC title. Lindenwood would need to sweep the Trojans and have SEMO lose one of their two matches against SIUE to clinch the top seed and host the OVC Championship. The Lions boast one of the most efficient offenses in the conferences and enter tomorrow's contest hitting .215 for the year. Lindenwood is 6-5 on the road this season, 3-3 as the road team in conference play. On their most recent road trip, the Lions were swept by Morehead State, losing both matches in straight sets.
