LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans (11-9) return to Gary Hogan Field for a midweek test against the Oral Roberts Eagles (7-13).
Series History
The Trojans have faced the Eagles 26 times in program history winning just six times. The last time these teams played one another was March 16, 2022 where the Eagles came out on top.
Scouting the Eagles
Oral Roberts enters the game with a record of 7-13 having been swept on the weekend by South Dakota State. Three Eagles are hitting over a .300 average: Booker (.333), Rodriguez (.330), and Breeze (.317). As a team, Oral Roberts hits to a .279 average scoring 123 runs on 191 hits, 10 home runs, 111 RBI, 101 walks, and 150 strikeouts. On the mound, the Eagles currently have a 7.41 ERA conceding 156 runs on 201 hits, 25 home runs, 100 walks, and 148 strikeouts.
What to Expect
The Trojans look to bounce back after conceding a sweep from a hot Murray State team.
Nico Baumbach currently leads the team in batting average at .333.
Ty Rhoades' 23 hits leads the team as well as his 16 runs.
Luke Pectol and
Skyler Trevino sit at the top of the team in home runs with four a piece. As a team, the Trojans are hitting to a .254 batting average with 101 runs scored on 172 hits, 20 home runs, 95 RBI and 70 walks.
Hoss Brewer has been dealing this season with a team high 32 strikeouts. The Trojan bullpen has put on a show with three key bullpen arms throwing sub 3 ERAs:
Erik McKnight (0.61),
Austin Stubber (2.12), and
Jacob Weatherley (2.55).
