After regular season split, Little Rock to meet UT Martin in OVC semifinals

The Little Rock women's basketball team will face UT Martin on Friday in the second of two semifinal games during the OVC Championships at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. The contest is scheduled to tip-off at 3:30 pm and can be streamed on ESPN+ and heard on Sports Animal 920 AM.
 
Little Rock (12-17 overall) is the No. 2 seed in this year's OVC tournament, while UT Martin (15-15) is the No. 3 seed and made their way into Friday's semifinals with a win over Tennessee Tech in Thursday's quarterfinal round. The winner advances to Saturday's championship game.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Little Rock and UT Martin have met eight times previously, with the all-time series tied at 4-4, including a split in this year's two regular season contests. This season, each visiting team won on the road. The last meeting was a 64-58 win for the Skyhawks in Little Rock on Feb. 6.
 
A LOOK AT THE SKYHAWKS
UT Martin shot 61.4 percent from the floor Thursday, including 14-of-18 from behind the arc (77.8 percent) in their 79-71 quarterfinal win over Tennessee Tech. Kenley McCarn finished with a game-high 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting while also dishing six assists. Anaya Brown pulled down 14 rebounds while Love Mays (13) and Lexi Rubel (11) each reached double figures.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Jayla Brooks played all 45 minutes, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 72-69 overtime win over Tennessee Tech. Faith Lee had a team-high 20 points, Jordan Holman added 14 points and nine boards, and Sug Williams had a season-high 14 points and seven rebounds.
