Trojan Women’s Golfers Close to Home This Week

JONESBORO, Ark. – After spending the fall traveling thousands of miles to compete on iconic courses against elite competition, Little Rock Women's Golf is wrapping up its fall schedule right here in the Natural State.

The Trojans will tee off at the Lady Red Wolves Classic on Monday and Tuesday, hosted by longtime rival Arkansas State at Sage Meadows Golf Club in Jonesboro. They'll then conclude the season next week when they host the Diamante Intercollegiate in Hot Springs Village, marking their only home tournament of the year.

"We're glad to be playing closer to home and looking for a strong finish to the fall," said head coach Jenna Birch. "Our team has worked hard over the past two weeks to prepare for these final two tournaments, and I feel good about where we are. We've faced some challenging courses and elite fields this season, and that experience has really helped us mature and grow as a team."

The 54-hole Lady Red Wolves Classic will feature a competitive regional field, including several Sun Belt and Missouri Valley Conference programs. OVC rival Morehead State is also part of the field.

The Trojans enter the final stretch of the fall season looking to build momentum heading into their home event next week. The Diamante Intercollegiate, hosted at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village, will feature a competitive field  and will serve as an opportunity for Little Rock to showcase its depth in front of a home crowd.

"We've learned a lot about ourselves this fall," Birch added. "These last two tournaments are a great opportunity to put everything together, finish strong, and set the tone for the spring."
