After opening the season on the West Coast, the Trojan women's golf team is trading the Pacific Ocean for the Rocky Mountains. Little Rock continues its fall road trip this week at the
Golfweek Red Sky Classic, held at Red Sky Ranch and Golf Club in Colorado. The three-day tournament tees off Monday.
"Golfweek is one of my favorite tournaments and has been since we started playing here four years ago," said head coach
Jenna Birch. "The course and the field give a great test for the Trojans, and I cannot wait to see the adaptability that the players have coming into the Colorado mountains."
The field features
20 teams, including national powers
LSU (No. 12),
Arizona (No. 19) and
Kansas (No. 21).
"The field this week is probably the strongest we are going to see this year," Birch added. "We are going up against some possible national champion contenders, so the girls will be able to see where they stand against some of the better golfers in the country."
Following their Colorado trip, the Trojans will take a break from travel and close out the fall slate in Arkansas. They'll compete at the
Lady Red Wolves Classic on Oct. 13 in Jonesboro before hosting the
Diamante Intercollegiate on Oct. 19 in Hot Springs Village.
