Little Rock Adds Highly Touted Wing Payton Futch to 2026 Class

Little Rock women's basketball has added one of the state's top high school players with the signing of Lakeside High School standout Payton Futch.

The 5-foot-9 wing from Hot Springs, Ark., has established herself as one of the most productive and versatile players in the state, earning 3A All-State honors each of the past two seasons.

Futch averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game last year for the Rams, showcasing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. She enters this season ranked as the No. 4 player in Arkansas for the 2026 class and opened the year in impressive fashion, dropping 31 points in Lakeside's season opener against Bryant.

"Payton is a dynamic, strong and athletic wing who fits the mold of many of the tremendous perimeter players we've had in the past," Little Rock head coach Steve Wiedower said. "She's a very good scorer, but more importantly, she has shown on the AAU circuit that she can be a lockdown defender against some of the best players in the country. We are excited to have Payton join our program and look forward to her career here at Little Rock."

Futch is the only player the Trojans will sign in the early period.
