Trojans Split Season Series with Skyhawks in Close Loss

It was a fight to the finish in Saturday's matchup with the Trojans and UT Martin Skyhawks, ultimately falling UTM's way in a 64-59 loss for Little Rock.

Faith Lee led the team with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Holman contributed 15 points and 5 rebounds.

It was UTM's strong defensive presence that disrupted the Trojans. Little Rock was held to just 34.6% shooting. Little Rock only led the first three minutes of the game.

It was a back-and-forth final quarter, tied at 50 with 6:10 left to play. Sug Williams grabbed a defensive rebound and with a foul from UTM's Shae Littleford, Williams was able to knock down two free-throws.

With three minutes left to go, Williams had an extraordinary effort in the paint with two layup attempts and two rebounds that ended with a bucket. This tied the game up once again, 54-54.

The Skyhawks started a final push with help from Littleford and Anaya Brown. In a final effort to tie it up, Faith Lee had a good look at a three-pointer that just didn't fall. UTM had an 11-5 run to end the game.

UT Martin was led by Arkansas native Kenley McCarn with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Daejah Richmond with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Little Rock falls to 10-11 overall, 8-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Next week the Trojans hit the road to face Southern Indiana (16-7, 8-4) and Morehead State (7-15, 2-10).
