After a season series sweep of the reigning OVC tournament champions Southern Indiana on Thursday, the Little Rock women's basketball team turns its attention to Morehead State. The two teams face off on Saturday with tipoff set for 10 a.m., at Ellis T. Johnson Arena. Catch the call from Trey Schaap on The Sports Animal 920 AM. The game will also be live streamed on ESPN+.
On the women's side of the Ohio Valley Conference, Little Rock (11-11, 9-4) sits in fourth place – two games behind Tennessee Tech, Lindenwood, and Eastern Illinois, who are in a three-way tie for first place. Morehead State sits at the bottom of the conference with an 8-15 overall record, 3-10 in the conference.

The Trojans came out with a 75-61 win at Southern Indiana.
Sug Williams set a career high with 21 points, while
Jordan Holman contributed 20 points with eight rebounds.
Jayla Brooks shot 6-of-9 from the field, 4-of-5 from the three, ending the night with 16 points. Brooks' effort marked a season-high for her.
Southern Indiana's Chloe Gannon led the Screaming Eagles with 16 points and five rebounds.
WILLIAMS GOING TO WORK
Sug Williams had a strong performance in Thursday's win over Southern Indiana, breaking her career high for scoring. Williams shot 80% from the floor on her way to 21 points. She averages just 10.6 points per game in 32 minutes per game on the season. In Ohio Valley Conference play, Williams averages 11.7 points per game, shooting nearly 36%.
THE GHOST OF JOE FOLEY
Former head coach Joe Foley instilled a strong defensive presence in Little Rock's team, and that has carried over into
Steve Wiedower's first stint as the Trojan's leader. The Trojans average 18.8 forced turnovers against OVC opponents. Little Rock outnumbers conference foes in steals with 7.2 per game and 2.1 blocks per game compared to opponents 1.7.
THE SERIES
Little Rock leads the series against Morehead State 3-1. The Trojans claimed the win earlier this season at the Jack Stephens Center with a 69-59 victory. Little Rock has only played once at Morehead since joining the OVC in the 2022-23 season and came out with a win.
LAST TIME OUT VS MOREHEAD STATE
The Trojans pulled out a 69-59 win over the Eagles back on January 9.
Jordan Holman led the team with 20 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
Faith Lee had 17 points and
Sug Williams contributed 15 points.
Although the Eagles' shooting percentage was better than the Trojans, Little Rock forced 16 turnovers and outrebounded Morehead State. Little Rock was strong from the three, shooting 46.2% on 6-of-13 shots.
The Eagles were led by Chrishawn Coleman and Alyssa Berry, both with 11 points.
