LITTLE ROCK — The
Little Rock Baseball program was recognized as an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Academic Excellence Award Winner this week, highlighting the program's academic success during the 2024-25 season. The Trojans earned a 3.36 GPA over the course of the school year. Little Rock is the only school from the Ohio Valley Conference to receive the award this year and the program is being honored for the eighth consecutive season.
"It's an honor again to receive this award from the ABCA, the top organization in college baseball for coaches. I'm proud of our team for maintaining our standard and for setting themselves up to be successful once their baseball careers are over," Little Rock head coach Chris Curry said.
The Academic Excellence Award is presented annually to ABCA member teams from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.
"The Little Rock Baseball team continues to set a high standard both on the field and in the classroom. Their academic achievement is a direct reflection of the discipline, character, and culture that Coach Chris Curry has instilled within the program," said Little Rock Director of Athletics Frank M. Cuervo. "We're grateful to the American Baseball Coaches Association for recognizing this commitment by honoring the Trojans with the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack. I'm extremely proud of how these student-athletes represent Little Rock Athletics and our University as a whole."
