LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock baseball head coach
Chris Curry, a longtime fixture in central Arkansas, will continue leading the Trojans after agreeing to a five-year contract extension, announced Friday by Little Rock Director of Athletics
Frank M. Cuervo.
"I am grateful to A.D. Frank Cuervo and Chancellor Drale for believing in the future of our program," Curry said. "We have worked over the last eleven years to build Little Rock Baseball into a nationally respected championship program through the efforts of many great players and coaches."
Curry, entering his 12th season, has left his mark on the program. Last season, the Trojans captured the hearts of baseball fans nationwide with a run to the final game of the Baton Rouge NCAA Regional. The postseason began with a five-win, four-day stretch to claim the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament title.
At the Regional, the Trojans continued to impress, defeating Top 20 teams Dallas Baptist and LSU on the same day to advance to the Regional Final against host LSU. The loss to Little Rock was the only defeat LSU experienced in the postseason, and the three postseason victories marked the first in school history.
"Coach Curry represents everything we want in the leader of our baseball program," said Cuervo." His professionalism, integrity, and ability to develop young men—on and off the field—have made a lasting impact on our University. Under his leadership, Trojan Baseball has achieved remarkable competitive success and continues to build momentum toward national prominence. We're thrilled to extend our partnership with Coach Curry and confident in the future he's helping to shape for Little Rock Baseball."
Under Curry's leadership, the Trojans have excelled in the OVC, finishing first or second in the regular season two out of their first three years in the league, winning the regular-season title in 2024, and claiming the OVC Tournament championship in 2025.
Looking ahead, Curry's team enters the new season with high expectations, returning a strong core from last year's roster and adding an impressive recruiting class. The program has also rallied around recently announced plans for a new stadium and training facility, which will serve as a cornerstone project of the upcoming
Trojans for the Futurecapital campaign.
"With the unwavering support of our administration and a strong vision for the future, we're more excited than ever about what lies ahead for Little Rock Baseball," Curry said.
