LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock baseball will meet two SEC powers taking on Ole Miss and Arkansas in a pair of October road exhibitions.
The Trojans will travel to Oxford to face the Rebels on Saturday, Oct. 4, before heading to Fayetteville for a matchup with the Razorbacks on Friday, Oct. 10. First pitch at Ole Miss is 1 p.m., while the Arkansas game is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Baum-Walker Stadium. Admission to the Razorback exhibition is free with the donation of a canned good.
"I think it's a good feather in the cap of the program where you have Ole Miss and Arkansas reaching out," said head coach Chris Curry. "They don't want to play someone that isn't going to test them a little bit. What a perfect scenario for us to travel twice and be able to see those environments. It doesn't get better – both of them will be Top 15-20-type programs in February."
The Trojans and Razorbacks began their regular-season series in 2019, preceded by a fall exhibition at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock. Curry has strong ties to Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn, having served as an assistant on his staff.
"It's always good for statewide competition," Curry added. "Anytime you get all of these baseball people in the same building, it's a win for us. It's continuing to play the best competition we can find, especially in the fall."
Little Rock is coming off a historic 2025 campaign, winning the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament and advancing to the Baton Rouge Regional final, where they fell to eventual national champion LSU. Along the way, the Trojans defeated the Tigers, knocked off nationally ranked Dallas Baptist. They also scored a road win at Ole Miss in April.
Key returners include Angel Cano — the Baton Rouge Regional Most Outstanding Player — along with Cooper Chaplain, Ty Rhoades, Ryan Geck, and Jack Cline. With 23 new players joining the roster, Curry believes the fall exhibitions will be invaluable.
"Now our guys see these Regional-type venues. That helps a ton," Curry said. "It will be a fun night [at Arkansas]. It will be a great crowd, and with 23 new faces, you can't simulate that in a scrimmage."
