CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Little Rock women's basketball team goes for the season sweep Saturday afternoon as the Trojans face Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m., with the men's game to follow in a doubleheader matchup.
Little Rock (12-13, 8-7 OVC) enters the weekend battling in the thick of the Ohio Valley Conference race and looking to bounce back after pushing first-place Western Illinois to the brink in an 84-73 road contest. The Trojans gave the league leaders all they could handle on their home floor and continue to show they can compete with anyone in the conference.
Eastern Illinois (4-22, 3-12 OVC) sits in 10th place after falling 93-49 to rival Western Illinois on Tuesday night. The Panthers will look to regroup at home, but the Trojans already own a win in the series this season and aim to complete the sweep.
With postseason positioning on the line and momentum up for grabs, Saturday's matchup presents another opportunity for Little Rock to strengthen its standing in the OVC heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

COACH SPEAK
"We played well enough to win against Western Illinois — we just couldn't finish. It's tough to beat a team like that on its home court. We have to shake that one off and show the same effort and execution against Eastern Illinois."

Steve Wiedower, Little Rock Head Coach
