LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Lindenwood used efficient shooting from beyond the arc to build separation early and hand Little Rock a 92-54 setback Thursday night at the Jack Stephens Center.
The Trojans struck first on a layup by
Mya Cotto, but Lindenwood built an advantage behind perimeter shooting. Mya Skoff connected on two three-pointers in the opening quarter as the visitors jumped out to a 12-2 lead midway through the period.
Jordan Holman provided an offensive spark late in the quarter, scoring five points, including a three-point play in the final minute, but Lindenwood closed the frame ahead 26-14.
Little Rock closed the game with improved balance in the final quarter.
Lidia Belmonte Hurtado led the Trojans with 11 points, hitting two three-pointers and adding a block. Holman also finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Brenna Burk added five points and two steals as the Trojans played to the final horn.
"Lindenwood made shots early and we never got comfortable defensively," Little Rock head coach
Steve Wiedower said. "We have to be better on the defensive end and more disciplined with the basketball and start the game better. The effort was there at times, but consistency has to improve as we head down the stretch."
Little Rock (11-12, 7-6 OVC) returns to action Saturday, Feb. 7, hosting SIUE at 1 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center.
