MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Little Rock Trojans men's golf squad sits in sixth place after two rounds of the Michael A. Marino Classic at the historic Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
Little Rock stands at three-under par through 36 holes after improving six strokes in the second round. The Trojans opened with a three-over-par first round before responding with a six-under-par second round, one of the stronger scores in the 16-team NCAA Division I field hosted by Coastal Carolina University.
Co-leaders Liberty University and North Carolina State University sit atop the leaderboard at 12-under par. University of Louisville and College of Charleston are tied for third at 11-under, while host Coastal Carolina University is fifth at nine-under.
Trojan Leaderboard
Viggo Talasmaki leads the Trojans and is tied for 14th place at three-under par (68) after carding rounds of 34-34.
Ed Featherstone sits in 18th place at two-under (71) through 36 holes.
Mark Stockdale and
Elliott Simonsen are tied for 31st place at one-over (72).
Rhett South is 49th at four-over (72).
Competing as an individual,
Alexander Rowland is 17-over (77).
Weather played a role in the tournament schedule, with coaches agreeing to complete the first nine holes of the second round Sunday before finishing the round Monday.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with the final 18-hole round at the 7,370-yard Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
