Trojans Set to Compete Among Nation’s Best at The Goodwin

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Little Rock men's golf team will take on one of the premier fields in college golf  Thursday as it travels to The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford at the historic Stanford Golf Course.

The 54-hole tournament, which will run thought Saturday, annually features one of the deepest and most competitive fields in NCAA Division I golf. The Trojans will compete alongside top-ranked programs such as Georgia Tech (19), New Mexico (21), Stanford (22), Utah (26) and BYU (27).

For Little Rock, the opportunity represents another step forward for a program that continues to elevate its national profile under head coach Austin Eoff. The Trojans have consistently challenged themselves with elite competition this spring, and The Goodwin provides another proving ground against some of the top teams in the country.

Competing at Stanford places the Trojans on one of college golf's most respected stages — a venue known for producing championship-caliber play and testing every aspect of a team's game. With a demanding course layout and a stacked field, the event offers Little Rock a chance to measure itself against the nation's best while continuing to build momentum heading into the postseason.

Little Rock will send a strong lineup into the field featuring Ed Featherstone, Rhett South, Viggo Talasmäki, Elliott Simonsen, and Mark Stockdale as the Trojans look to compete against one of the nation's top fields.

COACH SPEAK
"We look forward to heading out west again to the largest collegiate event of the year at Stanford that features 14 top-50 and 23 top-100 teams," head coach Austin Eoff said. "The weather forecast looks perfect, so it will be great to have a full event across all three days to showcase what we can do against some of the best teams in the country. We are close to playing really good golf, and it was nice to have a week off for each guy to work on what they need to improve individually."

RECENT RESULTS
Little Rock enters the week coming off a strong performance at the Michael A. Marino Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, finishing tied for sixth place at three-over par at the historic Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
The Trojans posted rounds of +3, -6 and +6 over the three-day event while competing in a competitive NCAA Division I field hosted by Coastal Carolina.
Elliott Simonsen and Viggo Talasmäki led the way for Little Rock, each finishing tied for 17th at one-under par. Simonsen closed with a two-under 70 in the final round, while Talasmäki finished under par for the tournament.
Ed Featherstone added a top-30 finish, while Mark Stockdale and Rhett South rounded out the team scoring.
Facing a 30-plus team field loaded with Power Five programs and nationally ranked opponents, Little Rock embraces the challenge as part of its continued growth and pursuit of championship-level success.
