Coach Speak
"The bottom line is that the season starts on Friday. We are 0-0 when we arrive at Tennessee Tech. We start playing for a championship on Friday," head coach
Chris Curry said. "Everybody is excited for Friday. We knew when we scheduled the double midweek it would test our depth on the mound and force us to throw some other guys. We did that, and it showed us some things."
"In a conference game, maybe we bring a guy in for one hitter or to get a ground ball. There are a lot of guys we feel comfortable using in certain situations. With the quality starts we've been getting from our weekend rotation, we feel like we can shorten the game by letting them go a little longer during conference play, which helps the bullpen."
