Bronzini Earns OVC Pitcher of the Week Honors After Dominant Outing

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following a commanding performance on the mound, Little Rock's Nic Bronzini has been named Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Bronzini delivered a dominant outing Sunday, working eight shutout innings to lead Little Rock to a 4-0 win over Morehead State. The left-hander scattered four hits — all singles — while walking two and striking out eight. He was in complete control early, retiring 20 of the first 23 batters he faced.

Facing his toughest moment in the eighth with the bases loaded and no outs, Bronzini responded with poise, striking out the next hitter before inducing an inning-ending double play to preserve the shutout and secure his second win of the season.

"We're so proud of how hard Nic has worked to earn this award," Little Rock head coach Chris Curry said. "He is pitching with confidence and giving us a chance to win every Sunday. Nic is very deserving of this honor."

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound California native credited consistency for his success.

"I have kept the same routine through the good or bad and just stuck with it," Bronzini said. "I am here to pitch in any role. If [Curry] wants me to pitch on Tuesday, I will pitch on Tuesday. Whatever I need to do, I will do."

Little Rock returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday against rival Arkansas State at Gary Hogan Field.
