Alicia Cash joined the Little Rock women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in July 2008 after a stint as head coach at Byrd Middle School in Duncanville, Texas.

Cash helped lead the Trojans to five straight Sun Belt West Division titles from 2009-13 and post-season appearances in eight of the last nine years, including Sun Belt Tournament titles in 2011, 2012 and 2015 and Sun Belt outright regular-season titles in 2015 and 2017.

At Byrd Middle School, Cash helped coach the eighth-grade girls’ basketball team to a district championship while also assisting the varsity girls’ team at Duncanville High School. Cash also served as the head coach for girls’ and boys’ cross country teams and as the assistant coach for the girls’ track and field team.

Prior to Byrd Middle School, Cash served as Director of Basketball Operations at Little Rock from 2005-2007. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a bachelor’s degree in health science with an emphasis in exercise science in 2004 and a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in adult education in 2006.

In addition to being the longest-tenured assistant coach currently on the Trojans’ staff, Cash was a program-changing player for Little Rock in the early-to-mid 2000s. Originally recruited to play under head coach Tracy Stewart-Lange, Cash averaged 16.7 points and and 8.7 rebounds per game in Joe Foley’s first season as head coach in 2003-04. Cash scored a then-school record 451 points as a junior in the 2003-04 season. Additionally, her 236 rebounds that season were at that time the third-highest total in school history.

A native of Houston, Cash competed for the Trojans from 2000-2005 where she earned the program’s first-ever All-Sun Belt Conference honor in 2004. She also helped lead Little Rock to the team’s first-ever post-season victory over Denver in the opening round of the Sun Belt Tournament in 2005.

Cash ended her career at Little Rock as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,282 career points and second on the all-time rebounds list with 682 boards. Her scoring average in the 2003-04 season (16.7 points per game) still stands as the fifth-best average in school history.

One of the most versatile players in school history, Cash still sits in Little Rock’s career top 10 in points, field goals made and attempted, three-pointers made, three-point percentage, blocks and rebounds.

Cash resides in Bryant and has one daughter, Bailey, born in 2010.
