Tamika Kursh enters her second season as Director of Basketball Operations for the women’s basketball program after a successful four-year career at Louisiana Tech.
 
Kursh’s duties include watching the academic progress of student-athletes’ and film exchange duties.
 
At Louisiana Tech, Kursh helped lead her team to the 2005-06 Western Athletic Conference title and the first round of the NCAA tournament.
 
Named preseason All-WAC second team by the league coaches prior to her junior season, Kursh recorded her career high that year with 18 points against Iowa.  She brought down her career high of 15 rebounds her sophomore season against Ole Miss.
 
At Fort Smith Northside, Kursh helped lead her team to a 28-1 record and the 2002 5A state title her senior season while averaging 14.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game.  She helped the Grizzlies to a No. 3 ranking in the nation by USA Today.
 
The Fort Smith, Ark. native helped lead her team to three consecutive state titles and was rated the 41st best high school senior by Michael White’s All-Star Girls Report and the eight best power forward.
 
The three time first team all-state and first team all-district honoree earned 5A State Tournament MVP honors her senior season and was named StudentSports.com second team All-American and Southeast Region Player of the Year.
 
As a senior, Kursh earned the Arkansas Prep Hoops Magazine Player of the Year and McDonald’s All-American honors where she played at Madison Square Garden in New York.  She also earned Southwest Times Record Player of the Year her final season
