Box Score JONESBORO, Ark. - Kyle DeGrace hit a pair of home runs and drove in seven RBI to lead Arkansas State (28-25, 16-13) to a 16-8 win over UALR (28-25, 11-16) on Saturday night. The Red Wolves scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to even the Sun Belt series at one game apiece.
The Trojans scored three runs in the top of the second to take a 3-2 lead, but ASU answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third and never trailed again. DeGrace hit a three run homer in the fifth, and followed that up with a grand slam in the seventh.
Murray Watts went 3-for-5 with three runs scored for the Red Wolves and finished with four RBI after hitting a three-run homer in the sixth - his 11th of the year.
Junior Casey McCollum led the Trojans with a 4-for-5 day at the plate, and drove in a team-high three runs. Juniors Jason Houston and Jake Rowell added two hits each, with Houston hitting his second triple of the year.
Junior Garret Graziano (2-3) took the loss after allowing seven hits and six runs over 3.0 innings in relief of starter Daniel Golden. ASU's Jacob Lee worked 6.0 innings to improve to 7-3 on the year, allowing five hits and five runs (two earned), with seven strikeouts against two walks.
The two teams return to action tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. for the rubber match of the three-game series.
