LITTLE ROCK – As announced last week, Little Rock baseball will host the Arkansas Razorbacks in a fall exhibition Friday, October 12 at Gary Hogan Field with first pitch scheduled to take place at 4:30 p.m.
With the interest level surrounding the exhibition contest expected to be high, Little Rock has laid out the following guidelines for the meeting between the Trojans and Razorbacks on October 12.
EXHIBITION FORMAT
Little Rock and Arkansas will meet as part of new NCAA legislation which allows teams to hold two exhibition contests in the fall non-championship season which do not count against the 56-game regular season in the spring.
The exhibition meeting between the Trojans and Razorbacks will be a controlled scrimmage, allowing for free substitutions throughout and relaxed rules during the exhibition. While the flow of the scrimmage will somewhat follow a traditional nine-inning regular season game, fans can expect coaches to take some leniency to work on different fundamental and situational elements.
No live video or live stats of the exhibition will be available.
TICKETS
Tickets for the October 12 fall exhibition between Little Rock and the Arkansas Razorbacks are
SOLD OUT. The online ticket portal will not accept any more orders and there will be no walk-up tickets available for purchase the day of the exhibition.
Those fans who have already purchased tickets and received an e-mail confirmation are encouraged to pick up their commemorative paper tickets prior to next Friday's exhibition in order to cut down on wait lines at Gary Hogan Field. The Little Rock box office, located at the Jack Stephens Center, will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day this week.
The gates to Gary Hogan Field will open at 3 p.m. Some select chair back seats will be reserved for Little Rock baseball season ticket holders but the remainder of seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. A block of tickets will also be reserved for current Little Rock students.
For those unfamiliar with Gary Hogan Field, the park's capacity is 1,200 fans, which consists of a limited number of chairback and bleacher seats behind home plate. The playing surface at Gary Hogan Field is surrounded by hills, allowing for seating on the berms and grassy areas throughout the park, with some standing room areas available down the first and third base lines. Lawn chairs and blankets will be admitted as space will once again be on a first-come, first-served basis.
PARKING
Parking at Gary Hogan Field, located at 2405 S. Harrison Street, will be free of charge and again will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis with additional parking on the grassy areas around the field being available.
Because of the narrow streets surrounding Gary Hogan Field, NO street parking will be allowed. Fans will need to park in one of the designated lots.
Due to the limited number of parking spots and space available around Gary Hogan Field, overflow parking will be available at Lot 14, which runs parallel with South Fillmore Street five blocks west of Gary Hogan Field.
Free shuttles will be offered from Lot 14, running continuously from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be no RV parking allowed at any of the parking lots for the exhibition.
CLEAR BAG POLICY
Little Rock's clear bag policy, implemented prior to the 2018 Trojan baseball season, will be in effect for the fall exhibition. The policy allows the following to be brought into Gary Hogan Field:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
OR
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
AND
- Small clutch purses, no larger than 4.5" x 6.5", the size of the palm of your hand, with or without a handle or straps
All clear bags and clutch purses will be screened prior to entry into the arena. All bags and purses not meeting the above requirements will not be permitted. Although permitted, childcare items, including diapers, must also be carried in an approved clear bag.
Following the guidelines laid out by the clear bag policy, coolers, backpacks and other items will not be permitted into Gary Hogan Field. For more information about the Little Rock clear bag policy, visit

PETS
While it has been a long-standing tradition to allow pets into Gary Hogan Field, due to the anticipated large crowds, pets will not be allowed into the October 12 exhibition.
CONCESSIONS
Gary Hogan Field's concession stand will be operating for the October 12 exhibition scrimmage. Additionally, food trucks will be brought into the gates to allow other food and drink options for fans.
MEDIA CREDENTIALS
Due to the limited space available for media members, credentials will only be issued to those media outlets that cover either the Trojans or Razorbacks on a regular basis. Credential requests should be made to
Rand Champion, Little Rock's Assistant AD for Communications, at
rdchampion@ualr.edu.
Media will have a limited number of parking spots available at Gary Hogan Field as those unable to secure a spot among those limited spots will be asked to park in one of the overflow parking lots.
