Sterling Randle Joins Athletic Communications Staff

LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock Athletics has announced the hiring of Sterling Randle as the department's Associate Director of Communications. Randle will handle responsibilities for the Little Rock women's basketball, volleyball and track and field/cross country programs while also spearheading the Trojans' digital and social media strategic plan.

"We're excited to be able to add Sterling to our communications team," said Rand Champion, Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. "His experience working at both the professional and Division I level will be a major addition for our department at Little Rock. His knowledge and passion of athletics, coupled with his ideas and vision for our presence in social and digital media, will be a key asset as the world of athletic communications continues to evolve."

Randle comes to Little Rock from the Dallas area where he most recently spent time working with both the Dallas Wings of the WNBA and the SMU Athletic department. Randle assisted the Wings' communications team as the team advanced to the WNBA playoffs for the second-straight season.

Prior to his time in Texas, Randle was the women's basketball contact at Southern Miss, including working with the Golden Eagles during the 2016-17 season in which they finished 24-11 and advanced to the WNIT, culminating in a loss to head coach Joe Foley's Trojans in the opening round. Randle also oversaw communication efforts for the golf programs at Southern Miss while assisting with a handful of other programs, attaining his master's degree in sport management in the process.

Randle began his athletic communications career working with a number of professional organizations, spending time with the NFL's Washington Redskins, the NBA's Charlotte Hornets and the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. He also worked for 1320 KFAN radio in Salt Lake City, Utah.

A native of Orem, Utah, Randle earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Brigham Young University where he served as the sports editor of the Daily Universe. Randle was awarded the Forace Green Journalism Award, given to an outstanding senior in the school of communications.

Randle completes the Trojans' communications department, which added two other positions at the start of the 2018-19 season. Jeff Rebello, a former student-athlete and graduate of Cal Lutheran, was hired as Little Rock's Assistant Director of Communications while Brian Krosky, a graduate of SUNY Oswego, was brought on as the Trojans' Video and Digital Production Coordinator.
