LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock Trojans were ousted 98-63 by No. 6 Mississippi State Wednesday night in the Jack Stephens Center.
Kyra Collier led all scorers with 21 points, eclipsing 20 for the third time in her career and the second time this season.
Anna Hurlburt had a game-high three blocks, logging her third multi block game of the season.
Antwainette Walker also registered a career-high 14 points in 16 minutes, the most she played of her freshman career so far.
Yanina Inkina also logged double-digit points, finishing with 11, marking the Trojans' first contest of the season with at least three players collecting more than 10 points.
For the fifth time this season the Trojans got on the board first, coming when
Ronjanae DeGray nailed a pair of free throws 23 seconds into the game. After dueling for a major of the quarter, Little Rock would be on top 14-13 when the first quarter ended, but Mississippi State would regain the lead, tallying the fifth and final score change of the game, at 7:35 of the second quarter and hold on to it for the duration of the contest.
Little Rock will back in action this Saturday, Dec. 1, against WKU. The men will play the opening game of the Homecoming doubleheader, facing Sam Houston State at 3 p.m. The women will follow at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the doubleheader can be purchased
