UCLA (No. 41) is also among the nation's top-50 with Iowa State (No. 51), UT San Antonio (No. 63), New Mexico (No. 64), St. Mary's (No. 65), host Arizona (No. 69) and Washington (No. 82) joining the Trojans among the top-100.
Â
Trojan Lineup
Little Rock will take to the course in Arizona with mostly familiar faces but one new addition. Senior
Justin Warren, juniors
Logan Pate and
Danial Durisic and sophomore
Aaron Ramos have been constants for head coach
Jake Harrington, but junior
Carter Patterson will be making his Trojan debut after transferring to Little Rock from McClennan Community College.
Â
Trojans in Arizona
The trip to Tucson marks the first time Little Rock will compete at the Arizona Intercollegiate and will be the first time the Trojans have competed in the state of Arizona since placing 11th at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale in April 2010. It will also be a homecoming of sorts for sophomore
Aaron Ramos who is from Goodyear, Arizona, about two hours north west of Tucson in the Phoenix suburbs.
Â
Fall Review
The Trojans had a strong start to its 2018-19 season, competing in four tournaments in the fall portion of the schedule. Little Rock placed in the top-10 in each, highlighted by a runner-up showing at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas in September and tying for third at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio to start the season. As a team, Little Rock posted a 289.5 scoring average with 19 rounds of par or better, en route to being ranked 83rd in the GolfStat rankings, its highest since the 2002-03 season.
Â
Productive Offseason
Senior
Justin Warren kept himself busy during Little Rock's hiatus, making a splash on the international scene. Warren competed in the PGA Tour Australasia Qualifying School over the break, winning the opening round with a 13-under 200. He then placed sixth in the final with an 5-under 283, earning an Exemption Category 16 for the duration of the 2019 season. Additionally, Warren advanced to the quarterfinals of the Men's Australian Amateur Match Play Championship, falling on the final hole. It adds to his impressive international tournament performances in the summer as he enters the spring with a 71.73 scoring average with six rounds of par-or-better for the Trojans.
Â
Looking Ahead
The trip to Arizona begins a busy spring season for Little Rock as the Trojans will compete in six tournaments before the Sun Belt Conference Championship in April. After this week in Arizona, the Trojans will return to the west in four weeks, taking part in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate February 22-24 in Palm Desert, California.
