LAREDO, Texas – A pair of Trojans finished among the individual top-20 as Little Rock finishes eighth at the 2019 Border Olympics at Laredo Country Club. The Trojans finish the 54-hole event with a 1-over 865 for their sixth top-10 finish of the season.

Senior
Justin Warren registered the fifth top-10 finish of his career, tying for 10th individually with a 4-under 212. Warren closed out the tournament with an even-par 72, tying for third among the 94-player field in par three scoring (2-under) and seventh in par four scoring (2-under). He also tied for first with 16 birdies through the two-day event.
Junior
Logan Pate also notched a top-20 finish, tying for 19th overall with a 1-under 215, including a team-best 1-under 71 over the final 18 holes. It is the third top-20 finish of Pate's Trojan career as he match Warren in par three scoring (2-under) and finished 4-under in par five scoring with 36 pars.
Sophomore
Aaron Ramos finished third on the Trojan scorecard with a 5-over 221, tying for 46th, finishing four shots better than senior
George Scanlon's 9-over 225. Freshman
Anton Albers rounds out the Trojan scorecard with a 10-over 226, including an even-par 72 over the final round for his second career round of par-or-better.
Entering the day in ninth-place, Little Rock moved up one sport over the final round, shooting a 5-over 293. The Trojans finished two shots better than ninth-place Oral Roberts (3-over 867) and one stroke back of host Houston (Even-par 864) for seventh overall. As a team, Little Rock ranked third in par three scoring (5-over) with 160 total pars and 49 total birdies.
Arkansas State captured the team title with a 29-over 835, notching a comfortable 15-stroke victory over Sam Houston State (14-under 850). UT Rio Grande Valley (11-under 853) finished third with Campbell (10-under 854) placing fourth and UT San Antonio (7-under 857) rounding out the top-five.
Little Rock returns to action next week in Louisiana, competing in the Lake Charles Invitational. Hosted by McNeese, the tournament will be held March 18-19 at the Country Club at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles.
