Little Rock is one of 17 teams competing at the Lake Charles Toyota Invitational and will be one of five Sun Belt teams among the field, joined by Arkansas State, Louisiana, Texas State and ULM. There will be a handful of the nation's top teams teeing off in Lake Charles, including six currently ranked among the GolfStat top-100. Texas Tech (No. 10), Arkansas State (No. 18) and TCU (No. 43) sit among the top-50 with New Orleans (No. 69), UT San Antonio (No. 79) and ULM (No. 98) rounding out the top-100 with Little Rock just on the outside at number 101.
Â
Trojan Lineup
Head coach
Jake Harrington will once again use an experienced lineup, consisting of a senior, two juniors and a sophomore down in Lake Charles.
Justin Warren will once again play the number one spot for the Trojans with his 71.45 scoring average as
Logan Pate will fill the number two position, coming off his top-20 finish in Laredo.
Â
Â
Down in the Boot
When Little Rock tees off at the Lake Charles Toyota Invitational Monday, it will be the first time the Trojans will have played a tournament in the state of Louisiana since tying for the team championship at the ULM/Wallace Jones Invitational in Delhi March 23 and 24, 2015. The Trojans will make their first trip to south Louisiana since competing at the Louisiana Classic March 7-8, 2011, placing 15th overall.
Â
Last Time Out
A pair of Trojans finished in the top-20 as Little Rock placed eighth at the Border Olympics last week in Laredo, Texas.
Justin Warren tied for 10th with a 4-under 212 while
Logan Pate tied for 19th at 1-under 215, helping pace the Trojans to a 1-over 865.
Â
Down Low Down Under
Senior
Justin Warren continues to set the tone for the Trojans as well as etch his name in the Little Rock record book. Warren leads the team with a 71.45 scoring average this season, which currently ranks as the lowest single season scoring average in program history. He has 13 rounds of par-or-better this season and four top-10 finishes, including setting program records for the lowest round (64) and the lowest tournament (202) earlier this season in Dallas.
Â
Racking Up The Miles
Little Rock will add another state to their 2018-19 travelogue this week when they tee it off in Louisiana – the sixth different state the Trojans will have played in this year. The Trojans travels have sent them to all four time zones this season as the trip to Lake Charles will bring Little Rock's season miles traveled to just shy of 12,000.
Â
Looking Ahead
The busy schedule for the Trojans continues with the yearly trip to the pacific northwest, returning to Washington for the Seattle Redhawk Invitational. Little Rock will tee it off April 1-2 at Chambers Bay Golf Club in University Place, Washington.
