"After knocking off the dust last week, I expect this group to be firing on all cylinders this Saturday," said head coach
J.P. Behnke. "Anytime you get to compete at a SEC venue, there is that little extra motivation."
The meet in Oxford is the second of six during the outdoor season for the Trojans, leading up to the Sun Belt Conference Championships in May. Little Rock opened the outdoor season last week in Texas as the Trojans notched 15 top-eight finishes. The effort was paced by Emilio Medina capturing the men's 5,000 meter run while Nghia Dinh placed second in the men's triple jump and third in the men's long jump.
On the women's side, the Little Rock effort was paced by
Vianney Sanchez, who finished second in the women's 5,000 meters and fourth in the women's 1,500 meters.
Nicole Edison also posted a pair of top-eight finishes, placing fifth in the women's long jump and sixth in the 100 meter dash.
Following Saturday's meet, Little Rock will get set to host the annual Little Rock Open, being held at the Coleman Sports Complex. The two-day meet begins with select field and distance events on Friday, April 5, before a full schedule Saturday, April 6.
