LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock junior distance runner
Hunter Paul has been named a CoSIDA Google Cloud first team Academic All-District for the 2018-19 track and field/cross country seasons, announced today by the organization.

Paul was a consistent competitor for the Trojans in the distance events during both the indoor and outdoor seasons as well as during the cross country season. During the outdoor season, Paul competed in the 5,000 in four events, posting a season-best time at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, finishing 28th, while registering top-10 showings on three other occasions, including a fourth-place effort at the UCA Open on April 12.
During the indoor season, Paul ran both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters in four meets, setting a new personal-best in the 3,000 at the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener to finish fifth. She ran a season-best in the 5,000 meters at the Samford Open to place seventh, one of a handful of top-10 individual finishes.
Paul also competed in all six events during the cross country season for Little Rock, running a season-best time in the 5K at the Little Rock Invitational to finish seventh overall. She also placed sixth at the UCA Cross Country Challenge and 24th at the Sun Belt Conference Championship, qualifying for the 2018 NCAA South Central Regional.
A native of San Antonio, Texas, Paul boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA, majoring in professional and technical writing. She becomes the third Trojan this season to be named a first team CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-Distrct selection, joining volleyball's Veronica Marin and baseball's Riley Pittman. Paul was one of just five Sun Belt female student-athletes named to the Academic All-District list, joined by Appalachian State's Hannah Emery and Emily Fedders and Georgia State's Angela Alonso and Lotte Meyberg.
