Trojans Set to Host No. 24 Coastal Carolina

LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans will return to Sun Belt Conference action when they host No. 24 Coastal Carolina in an important three-game series starting April 12 at 2 p.m.
 
Little Rock is currently 14-19 (7-5 Sun Belt) after a big 12-3 win over in-state rival UAPB. The Trojans used a big 4-for-5 day from Riley Pittman as well as Nick Perez's two-way performance to pick up the victory. In their previous conference series, Little Rock took two of three from UT Arlington on the road. The Trojans scored 22 runs in the first two games to dominate the games on Friday and Saturday.
 
Pittman Makes History
Riley Pittman tallied four doubles in the game against UAPB, which tied a school record. The senior went 4-for-5 on the night while scoring a season-high four runs. Pittman is currently hitting .325 on the season to lead the team. He now has 10 doubles, as he is the first Trojan to record double-digit two baggers on the season.
 
Scouting Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers come into this weekend's series with a 23-11-1 record (8-4 Sun Belt) and currently sit atop the East Division of the Sun Belt. Coastal Carolina won two of three games against South Alabama in their previous conference series and defeated No. 2 NC State in Tuesday's contest. The Chanticleers lead the conference in hitting have posted a .304 team batting average with a conference-leading 45 home runs. Kieton Rivers leads the way with a .378 average, 10 doubles and six home runs. Their pitching staff has registered a 4.32 team ERA to this point. Zach McCambley has been very effective as a starter, posting a 4-1 record with a 3.79 ERA in his eight starts.
 
Midweek Matchup
After this conference series, the Trojans will host in-state rival Central Arkansas in a single midweek game on Tuesday. First pitch with the Southland opponent is set for 6 p.m. on April 16.
