Trojans Look to Start New Win Streak Against UAPB

LITTLE ROCK- The Trojans will host UAPB on April 9 for a midweek matchup with the Golden Lions, first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. at Gary Hogan Field.
 
Little Rock is currently 13-19 (7-5 Sun Belt) after a series victory over UT Arlington. The Trojans used their hot bats to put up 23 runs in the three games. Chandler Fidel produced another quality start, goings six innings while only allowing two runs in his Friday night start on the mound. Little Rock's offense exploded for 13 runs in the series opener as the bats caught fire in game two as well, scoring nine runs on the night.
 
Next Man Up
Ramon Padilla recently had his number called as the Trojans' starting catcher. Padilla is hitting .357 with eight RBI and eight runs scored in his nine starts. The junior has had some key hits as of late and has only made one error behind the plate.
 
Scouting UAPB
The Golden Lions come into this weekend's series with a 6-24 record (2-12 SWAC). UAPB is coming off back-to-back losses to Prairie View A&M. The Golden Lions have posted a .253 team batting average with 23 home runs thus far. They are led by Nick Kreutzer hitting at a .366 clip with seven home runs and 32 RBI. Their pitching staff has struggled, posting a 9.34 team ERA.
 
Back to the Sun Belt
After this midweek matchup, the Trojans will host No. 25 Coastal Carolina for a three-game set starting Friday, April 12. First pitch with the Chanticleers is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Gary Hogan Field.
