Warren, Ramos Garner All-Sun Belt Postseason Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – A pair of Trojans have been named All-Sun Belt Conference selections for the 2018-19 men's golf season. Senior Justin Warren was named a first team selection while sophomore Aaron Ramos picked up second team honors as the duo both earn the first all-conference honors of their careers.

"This helps solidify what was a record-breaking year for our team and it's a great way to end a season," said head coach Jake Harrington. "Justin was our leader both on and off the course and it's a well-deserved recognition for him to be listed among the best players in the conference. Aaron was our most consistent player, especially down the stretch, and he was someone we could rely on in big tournaments. I'm happy for both of them to be able to close the season this way."

Warren closed his final season in Little Rock taking his place as one of the top golfers in program history. He finished the 2018-19 season with a 71.41 scoring average – the lowest ever by a Trojan and ranking fourth in the Sun Belt Conference. Warren finished at par-or-better in 21 of his 32 rounds this season with five top-10 finishes, including setting the program record for lowest round (64) and lowest 54-hole tournament total (11-under 202).

For his career, Warren competed in 22 events over two seasons for Little Rock with a 72.86 scoring average, ranking second all-time for career average. Nearly half of his 65 career rounds were at par-or-better, accomplishing the feat 32 times, with six top-10 individual finishes. The Picton, Australia native will now begin his professional career after qualifying for the PGA Autralasia Tour earlier this year.

Ramos posted his best season as a Trojan in 2018-19 as the sophomore registered a 71.94 scoring average, ranking third all-time in program history as he became just the third golfer to finish a season with a sub-72 average. Ramos was one of two Trojans to compete in all 11 events on the year, notching 15 rounds of par-or-better and three top-10 tournament finishes, shooting in the 60s seven times.

In his two years in Little Rock, Ramos has been in the Trojan lineup for all 22 events and currently boasts a 73.52 career scoring average, which ranks fourth all time. The Goodyear, Arizona native has shot par-or-better in 23 of his 65 rounds played with four top-10 finishes and seven top-20 showings.

With the pair of All-Sun Belt honors, Little Rock has now had 19 golfers earn 29 all-conference honors. It marks the first time the Trojans have had a pair of golfers named All-Sun Belt honorees since Beau Hanson, Alfred Kerstis and Johann Voss were recognized following the 2014-15 season.

Little Rock is coming off one of its best seasons in program history as the Trojans finished among the top-10 in the team standings in 10 of their 11 tournaments on the year, including setting a program tournament record with a 12-under 840 at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.  Little Rock ends the 2018-19 season with a GolfStat ranking of 99, its best national finish since the 2002-03 season.
