The award, which began in 2017, is given annually to a Little Rock student-athlete based on athletic performance, community service, leadership and dedication to their team. Kharlamova is the third winner of the award, joining
Cory Malcom (baseball – 2017) and Fali Garuba (soccer – 2018).
"We are incredibly pleased to recognize Anna as this year's Kevin A. Crass Heart of a Trojan Award winner as she embodies Kevin's example of what it means to be a member of Little Rock's Team," said Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics
Chasse Conque. "Her leadership ability and performance for our swimming program over the last four years has been remarkable, coupled with her community service endeavors and efforts to be an ambassador of Little Rock Athletics exemplifies what this award stands for."
Kharlamova is a four year letterwinner for the Trojan swimming team under head coach
Amy Burgess. She was a constant competitor for Little Rock, setting personal-best times for the 100 meter free at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in 2018 and the 200 meter free at the conference meet in 2016.
Her efforts outside the pool have been equally as impressive as Kharlamova has three times been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team and was a College Swimming and Diving Coachers Association of America Scholar All-America Team selection. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, sitting among the top 7.5% of students at UA Little Rock, as well as a member of the Beta Gamma Honor Society, ranking among the top 5% in the college of business.
A native of Cherpovets, Russia, Kharlamova is a marketing major that has been active in both the campus and Little Rock communities. She has served as a mentor and team leader for the Chancellor's Leadership Corps as well as the Student Marketing Association. She is currently serving an internship at C.H. Robinson, a Fortune 500 provider of transportational services and logistics.
The award's namesake, Kevin Crass, is an avid supporter of the Little Rock Athletic program, as well as an ambassador, community leader and benefactor in the Little Rock community for over 30 years.
Crass has assisted in multiple ways to the department, including serving as a color analyst for the Trojan men's basketball team for the past two years, recently completing a two-year term as chair of the Trojan Advisory Council. He and his wife, Cathy, were the honorees for the 10th annual SpectacUA
LR last October.
The award was given as part of the annual Trojan's Senior Honors Luncheon, recognizing the Little Rock student-athletes who will be receiving their degrees and expressing appreciation for their efforts on behalf of the Trojan Athletic department.
