Moore, Fidel Selected on Day Three of MLB Draft

LITTLE ROCK- Junior pitchers McKinley Moore and Chandler Fidel heard their names called on day three of the Major League Baseball Draft. Moore was selected in the 14^th round (pick 410) by the Chicago White Sox while Fidel was selected in the 23^rd round (pick 700) by the Cleveland Indians.
 
Little Rock's two draft picks make them the 24^th and 25^th in program history as the Trojans have now had a player drafted in each of the past seven seasons and 13 of the last 14.

Moore is a Keller, Texas native hailing from Keller Central High School. The right-handed pitcher threw 48.2 innings in his Little Rock career, racking up 47 strikeouts. In his first season as a Trojan in 2017, Moore held opposing hitters to a .143 batting average. The junior earned the nod in the Trojans' 17-7 win over Arkansas on April 2, which was one of his seven starts in his collegiate career.
 
Fidel is a Garland, Texas native who lettered at Naaman Forest High School. The junior was the Trojans' Friday-night starter in 2019, earning First-Team All-Sun Belt honors for his outstanding season.  Fidel led the Sun Belt in innings pitched (101.0) during the 2019 season, and also finished third in the conference in both ERA (3.65) and strikeouts (101).

Fidel received Sun Belt Player of the Week honors on May 14 for his masterful start against Texas State, throwing 124 pitches in nine innings of work, allowing just three runs and six hits on the night. He fanned 12 hitters, which tied a career high.
 
The Trojan ace etched his name in the Little Rock record book in multiple categories. The ace is the third pitcher in school history to record 100 strikeouts in a season, he ranks fourth in career strikeouts (253) and career starts (43), fifth in career innings-pitched (260.2), fifth in career wins (14) and 10^th in career ERA (4.07).
