SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Little Rock opened the 2019-20 season with a fifth-place showing at the Lone Star Invitational at TPC San Antonio. The Trojans used a 13-over 301 over the final round, finishing with a 28-over 892.

Junior
Aaron Ramos was the top Trojan finisher, tying for 18th overall with a 5-over 221 after a final round 5-over 77. Ramos tied for third among the field in par-three scoring at 1-under, averaging 2.92 per hole, while ranking third in total birdies (14) to notch the eighth top-20 showing of his career.
Sophomore
Anton Albers and senior
Danial Durisic each posted a 9-over 225, tying for 26th in the individual standings. Sophomore
Marcel Rauch posted the low round of the day for Little Rock, shooting a 1-over 73 and finishing with a 13-over 229 while senior
Logan Pate notched a 16-over 232 after his final round 3-over 75.
Competing as an individual, sophomore
Devon Whitaker tied for 34th overall with a 12-over 228 after a final round 6-over 78.
Entering the day in sixth-place, Little Rock moved up one spot over the final 18 holes to notch its first top-five team finish of the year. The Trojans finished five shots back of fourth-place Lipscomb (23-over 887), defeating host UT San Antonio (32-over 896) by four shots to finish fifth.
The Lone Star Invitational finished with a log jam atop the team standings with Houston, South Alabama and UT Arlington tying for first at 9-over 873. The trio finished 14 shots better than Lipscomb with the Trojans rounding out the top-five.
Up next for Little Rock is a return trip to the Lone Star state as the Trojans head to north Texas for the 2019 Trinity Forest Invitational. Hosted by SMU, the tournament, held at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, will be held Sunday, September 22 through Tuesday, September 24.
