Trojans Sit in Third After Opening Day at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI – Little Rock men's golf sits in third place after the first two rounds of the Bearcat Invitational at Coldstream Country Club.

The Trojans posted a team score of 3-under par, trailing Louisville by three shots for second place, while host Cincinnati leads the field at 11-under.

"It was a really good fight all the way through the end of the 36-hole day today, playing the last 5–6 holes nine-under par," said head coach Austin Eoff. "We didn't play our best in the morning wave with some sloppy mistakes, but we capitalized in the afternoon with the low team round of the second round."

Mark Stockdale paced Little Rock with a 3-under effort, placing him eighth individually. Rhett South is close behind in 11th at 2-under. Ed Featherstone sits even-par in 26th, while Elliott Simonsen carded a 2-over round to place 33rd.

"Ed, Mark, and Rhett played very solid golf, and Elliott grinded out a team score we needed," Eoff added.

Final-round play tees off Tuesday at 8 a.m.

"We need to stay disciplined like we did today if we want to have a chance," Eoff said.
