LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock's fifth annual Golf Shamble once again proved to be a major success, bringing in close to $55,000 to help support Trojan student-athletes. The event, held Monday, August 26 at Pleasant Valley Country Club, also served as a way to recognize Kim Backus for his contributions to the Little Rock golf programs and athletic department.

"I feel very fortunate that Kim Backus and his family let us honor him at this year's Little Rock Shamble," said Director of Golf
Jake Harrington. "Kim has done so much for Little Rock golf over the past 25 years and this is just a small way we could publicly thank him and show him how much he has meant and always will mean to Little Rock golf and our program."
"Each year we have incredible support from our community who really enjoy giving back and celebrating Little Rock Golf and the honorees, which makes Little Rock such a special place to coach," Harrington continued. "It is fun to see both familiar faces who play in the event each year as well as new faces who we hope keep coming back each year as part of the Trojan family. One of the things I love most about this event is that it helps build relationships with our current players, former players and the Little Rock community which carries on throughout each student athletes time here and helps make Little Rock their home away from home."
36 teams and over 150 players took part in the event, playing with current former members of the Little Rock golf programs. Competing in two flights, the team of Larry Golden, Alec Gaines, Joe Lansden, Chris Jenkins and Brian Whittle finished first in flight one, while the team of Danny Cook, Sammy Cook, Mark Hinterthuer, Rick Wickland and
Sydney Scraba placed second.
In flight two, the team of Gene Davis, Bev Hargraves, Clay Ramey, Frank Ramey and Doug Rich placed first with the team of Rick Edwards, Roderick Edwards,
