LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – For the first time in four years, Little Rock's Team is going up against a ranked opponent. The Trojans head to San Marcos, Texas this weekend for a three-match Sun Belt volleyball series against No. 15 Texas State.Â
Two of the three matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as Little Rock will tangle with a ranked team for the first time since 2016. Brant Freeman and Mick Haley will have the call on the two broadcasts.
Series History
Texas State holds an 11-5 lead in a series that has been trending towards the Bobcats as of late. Little Rock is looking to upend a seven-match streak held by the Bobcats.

Three Things to Know
- Back Into the Swing of Things
Little Rock returns to action after the team's bye week, a break built into the schedule to account for any postponed games in league play. That scenario, which Little Rock has very fortunately not had to encounter, gave the young Trojan squad a week to recover, regroup and refocus after a first half of the schedule saw a lot of long rallies and close matches.
- Don't Sleep on Jansen
Little Rock junior Laura Jansen (pronounced: YAWN-sen) leads the Sun Belt and ranks 11th in the nation with an average of 4.47 kills per set. That average leads Jansen to rank second in the nation in points (175.0) while leading the Sun Belt with an average of 5.15 points per set.
- Never Give Up
And the Trojans don't. That is why Little Rock has played eight sets through nine matches this year that have gone to extra points (more than 25 points to determine a set winner). Compare that with only two sets to go long last year and with the 2018 season which saw only 13 sets over 32 matches go to extra points.
