CHOUDRANT, La. – Little Rock opened the 2020-21 season in impressive fashion, firing a 5-under 283 through the opening 18 holes at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club. The result has the Trojans sitting second among the 12-team field after round one.

Anton Albers posted the low round of the day for Little Rock with a 3-under 69, one off his career-best. He currently sits tied for third among the 73-player field, registering 15 pars and three birdies on the day, pacing the Trojans with a 1-under 35 on the front nine and a 2-under 34 over the final nine holes.
Hunter Walker had a strong start to his Trojan career as the Cabot native fired a 2-under 70, including a 3-under 33 over the front nine. Walker opened his first tournament in a Little Rock uniform with six pars, five birdies and a bogey through his first 12 holes before closing out the final six with four pars and a pair of bogeys to sit tied for sixth.
Fellow newcomer
Magnus Lomholt was the third Trojan to finish under par with a 1-under 71, carding eight pars and three birdies over his final 11 holes. After a 1-over 37 through the front nine, Lomholt notched a 2-under 34 over the back nine and is tied for 12th, giving Little Rock three players among the top-20.
Logan Pate and
Nico Horder rounded out the scorecard with a 1-over 73 and a 2-over 74, respectively. Pate started out strong, sitting a 3-under 33 at the turn, but struggled over the back nine with a 4-over 40. Horder notched the first eagle of the year for Little Rock on the par-five second hole and was sitting at 3-over 39 after the first nine hole before recovering with a 1-under 35 over the back nine.
Vid Potocar is competing as an individual for the Trojans down in Louisiana and shot a 2-over 74 as well, finishing with eight pars, four birdies and five bogeys.
Little Rock's 5-under 283 puts the Trojans in second place among the 12-team field, one shot behind Sun Belt Conference foe Texas State's 6-under 282. The Trojans are one shot better than third-place UAB (4-under 284) and hold a three shot edge on South Alabama (2-under 286).
Monday's second round will get underway for Little Rock with an 11 a.m. tee time as once again the six Trojans will all play together in light of adjusted formats for COVID-19. Live scoring will be available at
